MOONSORROW : TWO PRIME SLICES OF “EPIC HEATHEN METAL” TO BE OFFICIALLY ISSUED VIA SPINEFARM RECORDS UK ON APRIL 27th 2009
FOLLOWING ON from the 2008 Re-issue of the “Kivenkantaja” classic, a Top 20 outing in Finland, Spinefarm Records UK has confirmed the April 27th release of the first two Moonsorrow albums “Suden Uni” & “Voimasta Ja Kunniasta”.
This is the first time that either album has been officially available in the UK, and in celebration of this fact, the initial pressing of “Suden Uni” will come complete with a bonus track (encouragingly titled “Drinking Music”!) plus a bonus DVD featuring both promo & live footage.
Formed in Helsinki back in 1995, Moonsorrow are a band who aren’t afraid to explore their musical ideas in depth, and their latest effort, the hour-plus “Tulimyrsky (Firestorm)” EP is certainly no exception. Protracted Pagan Power, indeed!
The five made two visits to the UK in 2008 -one for the Spinefarm Records UK launch event and the other for the ever-burgeoning Bloodstock Festival – and discussions are now underway to bring the band back to these shores in 2009.
