BEHEMOTH – post making of “Alas, The Lord Is Upon Me“!
Polish black/death tank BEHEMOTH just released a making of trailer for their upcoming video clip “Alas, The Lord Is Upon Me!“
Check out the flick at: http://www.youtube.com/user/behemothofficial?blend=1&ob=4#p/a/u/0/utYubw…
The clip has been produced by Grupa 13 who also worked on “At The Left Hand Ov God“ and “Ov Fire And The Void“ – which got banned from YouTube the day it got released!
THE NEW Tarja single, ‘Falling Awake’, will be released in the UK on July 19th as a vinyl 10” only via Spinefarm Records UK.
This highly collectible format will be limited to 1000 copies, all of them pressed onto ‘marbled’ vinyl & numbered by hand, and will be available exclusively from online retailer What Records (www.whatrecords.co.uk).
‘Falling Awake’ is the first track to be released from the forthcoming Tarja outing, ‘What Lies Beneath’ – the second full album beneath the ‘Tarja’ banner, the follow up to 2007’s ‘My Winter Storm’.
This version of the track differs from the one that will appear on ‘What Lies Beneath’ in that if features a special guest appearance from Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Jason Hook. Mixing has been handled, as with much of the new album, by renowned UK producer Colin Richardson, whose track record numbers artists such as Slipknot, Machine Head & Bullet For My Valentine.
The B-side of the 10” is ‘The Good Die Young’ – a specially mixed version of the song from the new Scorpions album, ‘Sting In The Tail’, with Tarja’s vocals now more prominent overall.
‘What Lies Beneath’ is scheduled for release on September 3rd 2010 via Spinefarm Records UK, preceded by follow-up single/video ‘Until My Last Breath’ on August 16th.
A UK show or shows is currently being lined up for October 2010.

Canadian extreme metallers KATAKLYSM will commence shooting a video clip for the song “Push The Venom” next July with director Ivan Colic (TYPE O NEGATIVE, UNLEASHED, DEATHSTARS, EX DEO) in Belgrade, Serbia. The track comes from their new album Heaven’s Venom, which will be released on August 16th. The follow-up to 2008’s Prevail, was recorded by KATAKLYSM guitarist J-F Dagenais (MALEVOLENT CREATION, MISERY INDEX) and was mixed by Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, MNEMIC, DARK TRANQUILLITY).
“It wasn’t a hard decision for us to choose who will do the next KATAKLYSM video. As some of you know we’ve released some of the craziest videos lately with our other band EX DEO. So we decided to give KATAKLYSM a visual masterpiece as well and hire Ivan Colic once again to direct and produce the new clip for the song ‘Push The Venom’. It’s a hard hitting track with lots of anger and power and I’m positive Ivan will give it justice. We will shoot the video right after completing the EX DEO tour in Europe in mid July, so stand by for its premier in August!”, says mainman Maurizio Iacono.
Heaven’s Venom track listing:
1. A Soulless God
2. Determined (Vows of Vengeance)
3. Faith Made of Shrapnel
4. Push the Venom
5. Hail the Renegade
6. As the Walls Collapse
7. Numb & Intoxicated
8. At the Edge of the World
9. Suicide River

With a wealth of musical, comedic and other entertaining talent on offer, plus FREE MUSIC DOWNLOADS for every ticket holder, the £132.50 weekend ticket price – which unlike most festivals carries NO BOOKING FEE – is hands down the best value for money out there.
Now, with less than 6 weeks to go, SONISPHERE has announced a further 10 acts to the already stellar line up.
Hot off the US Bamboozle roadshow, GOOD CHARLOTTE will take to the APOLLO stage on Saturday straight after PAPA ROACH and before PLACEBO for an exclusive festival appearance. Armed with a plethora of catchy tunes, the US Pop-Punksters have 4 UK top 10 singles under their studded belts, making them one of the biggest bands in the world of punk.
With hits such as “The River” – which was recorded with 2009 SONISPHERE guests AVENGED SEVENFOLD’s M Shadows and Synester Gates – “Girls & Boys”, “The Anthem”, “Lifestyles Of The Rich & Famous” and “Predictable”, there’s no excuse not to sing along at GOOD CHARLOTTE’s only UK festival appearance of 2010.
Another festival exclusive comes in the form of comedian BRIAN POSEHN’s debut UK performance at SONISPHERE COMEDY. You’ll recognise Brian from “The Office – An American Workplace”, as well as his recently released music video “Metal By Numbers”. The funnyman – who has appeared in films such as “The Devils Rejects” and “Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer” and programs including “Just Shoot Me”, “Seinfeld” and “Friends” – looks forward to his first UK performance:
‘’As an American metal head it's long been a dream of mine to attend one of the UK's famous summer music festivals, the fact that I get to make my UK debut at Sonisphere is insanely cool. To be on the same bill as Maiden and Anthrax is a metal nerd dream I never thought would come true. Sonisphere Knebworth is sure to be a three day metal nerdgasm’’
A further 8 bands have also been confirmed, including exclusive appearances from US noisemakers CONVERGE and sludge metallers KYLESA, who both fly in from the States to dish out the decibels on BOHEMIA and RED BULL stages respectively.
There are also some very welcome additions to the JAGERMEISTER stage. As well as sets from TIGER PLEASE, LITTLE LONDON and OUT OF SIGHT, we can confirm a very special headline appearance from reformed metal heroes EARTHTONE 9 on the Saturday. The band are also offering a free 16 track download to jog people’s memories and familiarise themselves with their music at www.earthtone9.co.uk. Says frontman Karl Middleton:
'We are still in shock that we've been asked to play the mighty Sonisphere festival almost a decade after we laid et9 to rest. To say that this year has been full of surprises is an understatement, it is a dream come true for us to be able to play at one of the world's premier metal festivals. We cannot fucking wait to get up there and lay waste to the Jagermeister stage. If you like groove based, heavy, melodic music come and check us
out on Saturday. Rest assured you'll see a band playing with every ounce of conviction, passion and intensity that they can muster. It's going to be beautiful…..and terrifying. See you there. x'
Over on the STONGBOW BOWTIME BAR stage STRAIGHT LINES will play on the Sunday, with CHROME HOOF headlining the Saturday.
Look out for details of more comedy, as well as special guest comperes to be announced shortly.

Last year’s SONISPHERE saw 300,000 music fans attend six festivals across the continent, taking in The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Finland, and the UK. Boasting a line-up covering a truly broad spectrum of the rock scene, headliners Metallica led a diverse collection of acts from country to country including Slipknot, Lamb Of God, Anthrax, Linkin Park, The Prodigy, The Hives and many more, to make the inaugural tour a huge success.
This year, SONISPHERE expands to eleven events with headliners including Iron Maiden, Metallica, and Rammstein. With an extremely impressive line up already shaping up across all eleven shows, this groundbreaking travelling rock circus is set to be an even bigger success in 2010, as it solidifies its position as the world’s leading rock festival series.

RECKLESS LOVE, the Finnish rockers who have burst spectacularly onto the UK scene in the past few months, have confirmed an 11-date ‘Back To Paradise’ tour of the UK starting on September 16th 2010.
With the quartet’s debut self-titled album picking up stellar reviews, plus a spectacular Download Festival debut now firmly under their belt, the time is right for RL (fronted by former Crashdiet vocalist Olli Herman) to return to the UK to give further impetus to a new glitter-coated movement founded on strong songs, equally strong image and the all-consuming desire to entertain!
To date, the band – signed to Spinefarm Records UK – have only visited the UK on two occasions; first, to play a sold-out show at the Barfly club in London, and second, for the aforementioned Download outing, where they packed out the expansive Pepsi Stage tent, being cited as ‘2010’s surprise package’ by Kerrang! magazine.
The full list of ‘Back To Paradise’ shows is as follows:-

17th – Nuneaton, Queens Hall 24th – Nottingham, Basement

PRIOR TO their ‘Back To Paradise’ tour, Reckless Love release a new digital single ‘Romance’ on July 5th 2010; the single will come complete with two bonus acoustic tracks, including a cover of the Def Leppard classic ‘Hysteria’.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH PICK UP TWO TROPHIES AT THE METAL HAMMER ‘GOLDEN GODS’ AWARDS IN LONDON…
US ROCKERS Five Finger Death Punch were double winners at the annual Metal Hammer ‘Golden Gods’ Awards at the O2 Arena in London on June 14th 2010.
The band – who made a main-stage appearance at this year’s Download Festival in the UK, as well as playing at the Awards themselves – were voted ‘Best Breakthrough Act’ by the readers of the magazine; FFDP guitarist Zoltan Bathory also won the ‘Dimebag Darrell Shredder Award’, a trophy that was presented to him by Hellyeah drummer Vinnie Paul, brother of the late Dimebag.
FFDP’s latest album ‘War Is The Answer’ is currently on release via Spinefarm Records UK, supported by the single/video ‘Bad Company’ – a version of the classic song first recorded in 1974 by the UK band of the same name.
DANISH RIFF LORDS CONFIRM FIRST UK TOUR FOR NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2010
NEW STUDIO ALBUM ‘BEYOND HEAVEN / ABOVE HELL’ SET FOR SEPTEMBER 13th RELEASE ON SPINEFARM RECORDS UK…
VOLBEAT HAVE celebrated the completion of new studio album ‘Beyond Heaven / Above Hell’ by announcing a run of headline UK shows; the first time the Danish quartet – already an arena act in mainland Europe – have embarked on a tour over here.
The band recently made a much-lauded appearance at the Download Festival in Castle Donington, their second showing at this prestigious UK event; they have also shared European stages with the likes of Metallica, AC/DC & Rammstein, showcasing a signature style that that draws equal inspiration from Johnny Cash, Social Distortion & Metallica (!), with tattooed singer/guitarist Michael Poulsen unafraid to show the full breadth of his musical vision.
The list of dates is as follows:-
24th – Portsmouth, Wedgewood Rooms 1st – Norwich, Waterfront
25th – Dublin, Academy 2nd – Newcastle, Academy II
26th – Belfast, Spring & Airbrake 3rd – Glasgow, Garage

A Special Guest act will be announced shortly.
Prior to these shows, Volbeat will release their fourth studio outing since first coming together back in 2001; titled ‘Beyond Heaven / Above Hell’ and overseen by regular producer Jacob Hansen, the album – their first for Spinefarm Records UK – is set to be the band’s most varied effort to date, with all aspects of the well-honed Volbeat sound being pushed to new & exciting levels; in other words, more melody, more atmosphere and definitely more power, with the heavier songs – supported by a number of surprise guest appearances – showing that Poulsen & Co. are true (dark) masters of The Riff.
‘A Warrior’s Call’ a song recorded by the band as a tribute to Danish boxer Mikkel Kessler (who also features on the track), is now confirmed to appear on the album.
The first single, title tbc, is likely to be released in mid-to-late August.
After earning rave reviews for both their stunning debut and captivating live performances, London’s JUROJIN have landed a support slot with Israel’s Orphaned Land on Sunday June 27th at London’s infamous Underworld venue.
“We’ve been fans of Orphaned Land and have followed their progress for a couple of years now” states guitarist Nic Rizzi. “So we are quite grateful to have been given the opportunity to support them in our hometown. Some of their influences are quite similar to ours with the usage of percussion instruments within heavy music, Arabic vibes, and musical passages so for us to open up the night seems suitable. I have to say though, we are just as thrilled to be playing with Orphaned Land as we are to be able to finally see them live!”
JUROJIN have just released their acclaimed debut mini-album, “The Living Measure of Time” via ADA/ Warner, to great critical acclaim. Kerrang! Magazine have called them “one of the most unique bands of 2010,” Rocksound describe the album as “displaying a maturity far in excess of the band’s apparent experience,” and JUROJIN have received equal praises from the likes of Prog magazine, Powerplay, XFM, BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, and Kerrang! Radio amongst many others within UK media.
Come see for yourself what Metal Team UK call “a band of professional musicians playing top-quality music.”

BEHEMOTH – shot new video! Photos available!
Polish death / black tank BEHEMOTH has just shot a new production video for the track “Alas the Lord Is upon Me” off their latest release “Evangelion”. The video was produced and directed by Rafal Szermanowicz and Grupa 13 who also shot BEHEMOTH’s videos for “Ov Fire and the Void” and “At the left hand ov God”.
Vocalist and guitarist Nergal comments: “First of all, we’ve overcome ourselves with this new video clip. Period. It’s something we’ve wanted to do for a very long time. Pretty much no digital intervention, no blue boxes, no fake shit this time, but great filming, good acting, and a fuckin’ awesome storyline. It’s disturbing, crazy, and evil. We’ve had over 70 people working for us on this video so we can easily say it was the biggest production so far. We are beyond excited! Wait and see…”
The director of the video, Dariusz Szermanowicz commented: “This time we decided to make something different. We'd like to make a video in “cinematic” style without so many VFX like in last two videos. We found a great location, we had dozen of actors and extras and awesome stylizing. 16 hours of hard work resulted with best video we’ve ever made!”

OPETH RETURN TO BLOODSTOCK
TO FILL FINAL HEADLINE SLOT
With a line-up boasting headline appearances from CHILDREN OF BODOM, FEAR FACTORY, TWISTED SISTER, plus a special guest slot filled by MESHUGGAH, BLOODSTOCK can now confirm the final headline slot for BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR 2010. The Friday night will be closed by Swedish Prog-Metal superstars OPETH, who headlined back in 2008.
“We're pretty excited about coming back to play the Bloodstock festival with Opeth.” States frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt “Myself and Axe will of course be double-fisting since we gonna cause some havoc with Bloodbath as well. We got asked to play since Heaven & Hell cancelled and even though we obviously feel that we cannot possibly match their magic or fill the void, it will be a like a personal tribute show to the memory of Ronnie Dio. So needless to say I'm honoured to play, it will be intimidating and emotional I believe. We'll deliver as usual of course but yeah, I will be thinking about Dio, that's for sure.”
Since 1990, OPETH have dazzled audiences with their unique blend of death metal, prog and folk, earning a diverse fanbase through the use of both electric and acoustic guitars, and clean and growled vocals. Their 2008 headline slot earned the band rave reviews across the music press, for a performance that had the assembled mass of metalheads captivated with their intricate, beautifully executed compositions. With special guests MESHUGGAH preceding OPETH’s headline slot, we look forward to an awesome close to the first full day of BOA 2010 on Friday 13th August.
