RAGE – Triumph at Stockcar Crash Challenge
On Saturday, Stefan Raab’s “Stockcar Crash Challenge” took place at the sold out “Schalke Arena”, live on Pro7 TV. The pyro-truck was the stage for RAGE’s soundtrack performance for the spectacular entering – “Drop Dead” of the album “Carved In Stone”. Several millions watched this show on TV.
“As we got the call, that Stefan wanted his favourite metal band RAGE to perform at the opening of the show, we were pretty excited and just confirmed of course immediately. The song “Drop Dead” was chosen by Stefan. It was a lot of fun to play in front of the sold out “Schalke Arena” on the truck with flamethrowers and pyrotechnics! Stefan controlled the pyros and at one point he was nearly melting the amps”, said guitarist Victor Smolski. Frontman Peavy Wagner completed: “Even if we got grilled it was just an amazing experience.” Drummer André Hilgers is still overwhelmed: “It was a breathtaking venue, a great crew and an absolutely awesome atmosphere.
