EXCITING NEW PROJECT FEATURING MEMBERS OF LABRAT, TED MAUL, RIVER FRESHNEY AND PURE NEGATIVE ANNOUNCE DEAL WITH SIEGE OF AMIDA RECORDS AND TOUR WITH SOILENT GREEN

    London, England March 2011

Details of an exciting new project featuring members of various underground metal bands have been revealed. Born from a basic desire to have an excuse to hang out more often with close friends, TED MAUL guitarist LUCA GDRAX invited ex band mate, drummer HELLHOG (currently of PURE NEGATIVE), Ex-LABRAT bass wizard ADAM DA RAT, and the toxic duo of RIVER FRESHNEY’s LEE4 (guitars) and WEZ4 (Vocals) to start jamming. After a few months of rehearsals, it soon became apparent that what was being produced deserved more than the confines of a shitty rehearsal space in an industrial estate in West London, and the five set about refining what would become the band’s debut EP, “INHALING THE ASHES”.

Recorded in a 48 hour gap in extreme metal wonder-producer RUSS RUSSELL’s busy schedule before Xmas, the end result is six tracks of some of the freshest sounding hardcore metal this country has produced in recent years.

Dripping with hate, fiercely brutal, this is metal at its most honest.

“It's so much fun to be thrashing out hardcore metal tunes in the vein of the bands we grew up with” says LUCA, who has been gigging in various bands including AS SHE SCREAMS, INCARCERATED and TED MAUL since 1995. “Entombed, Biohazard, Cro-Mags, just making a stress free environment to get demented and have some fun!” On the upcoming tour, he states: “SOILENT GREEN are kings, we can't wait to share the stage and the bar with those guys. Pure devilry awaits!”

“It feels GREAT to be playing again!” enthuses ADAM DA RAT, who as well as touring the world with LABRAT, also did brief stints standing in for UKHC heroes STAMPIN’ GROUND and NWOAHM champions GOD FORBID, as well as being the original bassplayer in TED MAUL. “It’s so refreshing to be making music for music’s sake” he continues. “There’s no agenda here, no ambition, no ‘Let’s make this our jobs’ type of thinking going on, and I think you can hear that in the tunes. It’s just five guys who love heavy music making a racket with no idea where it will go afterwards. Putting it out on a proper label and going on tour with SOILENT GREEN is not something we planned, but it seems everyone that’s heard DRIPBACK wants to help us out and get involved. I am very excited about this.”

The full tracklisting for INHALING THE ASHES is as follows:

    1. Hold Your Horses
    2. Kick Out Time
    3. No God, No Master
    4. Dilapidated Soul
    5. Distrust
    6. Under The Floor

The band have posted two tracks for preview at www.dripback.co.uk

“INHALING THE ASHES” is released via SIEGE OF AMIDA RECORDS June 6th 2011.

DRIPBACK will be main support to SOILENT GREEN at the following shows in May:

    5th The Underworld London
    6th Crauford Arms Milton Keynes
    7th Millennium Music Hall Cardiff
    8th The Old Bell Derby

ROMEO MUST DIE RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM ‘HARDSHIPS IN SEASON’ AND ANNOUNCE MAY TOUR!

”If you find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn't lead anywhere” (Frank A. Clark).

On 2nd May 2011 ROMEO MUST DIE release their blistering debut album, ‘HARDSHIPS IN SEASON’. Eighteen months in the making, this album has been quite a journey for the band that has endured an onslaught of misfortune as vocalist Adam Frakes-Sime explains. “We began writing in 2009, and good progress was being made when Paul our guitarist was involved in a road traffic accident and was hit by a truck. He was in intensive care for some time, however considering the horrific injuries he sustained his recovery time was remarkable.”

Whilst Paul recovered, the rest of the band turned their efforts to building GRINDSTONE STUDIO for producer/fellow ex-STAMPIN’ GROUND man Scott Atkins. It was a huge project but also a great opportunity to construct the studio space in which the new record would be created. From the bricks and mortar to the timber and insulation the build took all summer to complete.

The band began tracking drums until Will their drummer rolled his car three times landing in a ditch on the M3. Will recovered within days however two weeks later vocalist Adam was in A&E for stitches to his jaw following an accident whilst recording an EPK segment.

Bassist Ben Frost recounts, “We drew from whatever problems that had affected us that month and that sense of moroseness has been injected into the songs. It’s fuelled by years of hate, bitterness and an immense underlying lust for success”.

Since their inception in 2007 Romeo Must Die have hit their post Stampin’ Ground days running, having built a solid underground following touring with the likes of BIOHAZARD, TEXTURES, SYLOSIS, EVILE, as well as their own headline tours of Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Greece, Holland, Belgium and of course the UK, their tireless work ethic paying dividends. Their 2008 EP 'Defined By Enemies' received top scoring reviews across the board, three months after it’s release the ‘Defined By Enemies’ music video received rotation on SCUZZ TV.

“HARDSHIPS IN SEASON” is 49 minutes of throat stampin’, eye-gauging intensity, the likes of which will delight real fans of heavy music.

Catch the band on tour with THE DEFILED in May.

TAKING THEIR monicker from ‘those moments’ where vocalist/guitarist Matt Walst (brother of Three Days Grace bassist, Brad) says he draws his song-writing inspiration from, Toronto-based quartet My Darkest Days will release their debut self-titled album in the UK on June 6th 2011 through Spinefarm Records.

A highly infectious collection of expertly-crafted commercial rock‘n’roll, this 11-track outing – overseen by Nickelback main-man and fellow Canuck Chad Kroeger – features a number of great singles, the likes of ‘Porn Star Dancing’, ‘Move Your Body’ & ‘The World Belongs To Me’, plus special guest performers such as country singer Jessie James (who appears on the Duran Duran cover ‘Come Undone’) and Australian guitarist Orianthi, both female performers of note.

Since first coming together in 2005, MDD have been building a loyal following out on the road, finally coming to the attention of the aforementioned Chad Kroeger, who signed them to his production company (604 Records). Over the years, Kroeger has developed a reputation for taking up and comin’ acts under his wing, including Default & Theory Of A Deadman, and he proved every bit as committed to the MDD cause, co-writing several of the tracks on the album and helping the band to raise their profile in general.

Supported by an on-the-road schedule that has seen them guesting with Theory Of A Deadman, Papa Roach, Hinder and more, ‘My Darkest Days’ (the album) has already attracted a great deal of attention – initially because of the musical pedigree of those working behind the scenes (including Nickelback producer Joey Moi), but more recently because of first single/video ‘Porn Star Dancing’, which has now turned gold in Canada and sold over 500,000 copies in the US! Filmed at the Hard Rock Café in Las Vegas and conceived in the head-turnin’ tradition of Mötley Crüe’s ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’, ‘Porn Star Dancing’ is truly a hard track to resist, with Kroeger, platinum-selling rapper Ludacris and former Ozzy guitarist & Black Label Society front-man Zakk Wylde all appearing in the video and generally lending some memorable musical assistance.

With the promo clip in question swiftly becoming one of the most downloaded in iTunes history,
and another track from the album, ‘The World Belongs To Me’ (the next US/Canadian single/video), featuring on the ‘SAW 3D’ soundtrack, there’s no question that MDD are well on the way to having an international career that’s anything but dark.

Debut UK shows are being looked into for Spring of this year.

FINNTROLL, WINTERSUN & FORBIDDEN JOIN BLOODSTOCK 2011 LINE UP

FINNTROLL, WINTERSUN & FORBIDDEN JOIN BLOODSTOCK 2011 LINE UP

With a headline cast boasting MOTÖRHEAD, W.A.S.P and IMMORTAL, BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR announces another three fantastic acts for this summer’s festival.

One of the leading names in the folk/pagan metal scene, FINNTROLL returns to BLOODSTOCK after a rapturous reception back in 2007. Originally conceived as the result of a night of alcoholic carnage, when in a moment of inspiration, original guitarist Teemu “Somnium” Raimoranta (RIP) and former vocalist Jan “Katla” Jämsen conceived of a band that fused the darkness and grandeur of black metal with the traditional Finnish hoedown-music. The resultant sound was FINNTROLL, a namesake that came from an old Finnish legend where Swedish priests coming to Finland had an encounter with a wild-looking man who killed most of their party. Since then, FINNTROLL – continued by Routa on guitar and Vreth on Vocals alongside Beast Dominator, Skrymer, Tundra, Virta and Trollhorn – have taken their black and death tinged humppa metal all over the globe, and are just about to embark on their first Australian tour this week.

Joining them will be fellow Finnish folk-freaks WINTERSUN, who’s set at BLOODSTOCK this year will be highly anticipated after they were forced to pull out of the 2009 event to complete their still to be released “Time” album, expected later this year. Featuring members from some of the top names in the Finnish metal scene, including Ensiferum, Rotten Sound and Norther, WINTERSUN are something of a supergroup, with the various members influences combining to create a unique blend of melodic death and power metal with a heavy folk flavour that is bound to go down a storm with the BLOODSTOCK crowd.

Also added to the line-up are reformed US Thrash legends FORBIDDEN. The recently reformed thrashers released their first album in over 13 years last October, after a too-long hiatus. “Omega Wave”, released via Nuclear Blast records, received rave reviews in the British metal media and was rapturously received by fans, who lapped up the 12 tracks of no-nonsense, back-to basics thrash on offer. Find out why FORBIDDEN are one of the most highly regarded acts of the 80s/90s US thrash scene at this, their first ever UK festival appearance at BLOODSTOCK this summer.

Last week, BLOODSTOCK revealed details of its affiliate scheme, enabling supporters of the UK’s only true outdoor Metal festival to be rewarded for their efforts. The response has been enormous, with more people signing up in one day than over the previous three years of the scheme. To find out more check out http://www.bloodstock.uk.com/pages/affiliates
