MISS MAY I RETURN TO THE UK FOR OCTOBER HEADLINE TOUR
AND REISSUE DELUXE ‘MONUMENT’ ALBUM AND DVD!

“Muscular US metalcore with massive melodic choruses” METAL HAMMER
“With exhilarating time signatures and ruthless musicianship, Miss May I have shown what it was that made metalcore exciting in the first place, and why we can love it once again”. ROCK SOUND
“Miss May I’s brand of crunching riffage is earning them a reputation as one of the leading lights of Stateside metalcore”. TOTAL GUITAR

Ohio metallers MISS MAY I will be making a very welcome return to UK shores this October for their first headline tour! Having successfully stormed through the UK in both December 2010 and April 2011 supporting Asking Alexandria and We Came As Romans respectively, the band have been going from strength to strength, with their latest outing taking them to Australia as main support to Parkway Drive. They will also be re-releasing a deluxe CD and DVD version of ‘Monument’ featuring 3 new studio tracks, 1 B-side and a DVD with all of the bands music videos, live concert footage, interviews and more out 4th July 2011 on Rise Records. This reissue touches upon parts of thrash merged with heavy metalcore breakdowns, but remains well balanced with great melody. The intensity on ‘Monument’ is unmatched by any metal release this year, and all that emotion will be unhinged live this summer on the Vans 2011 Warped Tour. This is a must for any existing Miss May I fan, and a perfect introduction for the scores of new fans they're gaining daily.

    Vocalist Levi Benton comments:
“We are excited to come back and again to Europe and UK. The first time was amazing and this will be even better. For the kids who couldn’t see us the last time through we are so stoked to see you on this tour!”

Dir en grey Post Teaser Clip and New Artwork

DIR EN GREY have posted a teaser from the forthcoming single “Different Sense”, set for a 22nd June release. Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWx3b-QCEX4 for a sneak listen.

Mixed by master metal engineer Tue Madsen (August Burns Red, The Haunted, Suicide Silence) and mastered by Alan Douches (Hatebreed, The Black Dahlia Murder, Job For a Cowboy), “Different Sense” is Dir en grey at their most ferocious.

The band have also revealed the artwork for the new single:

The single comes ahead of their new studio album, album “DUM SPIRO SPERO”, set for an August 1st release.

DIR EN GREY will play London’s Koko on 12th August:

ANNOUNCE DEBUT EP RELEASE, TOUR DATES AND SONISPHERE FESTIVAL APPEARANCE

    No Corruption
    No Pollution
    No Misguidance
    No Americana.

A band, a group, a collaboration of four individuals with one aim in mind, to create original upbeat music unbound by the restraints of what is considered to be the current consensus – Raw and original tunes, not motivated by the need to please the majority.

Despite their youth, Birmingham based NO AMERICANA have a wealth of experience for a band just releasing their debut EP. Not content with gracing local magazine covers and radio shows, NO AMERICANA have completed successful UK and European tours with THE WILDHEARTS and STONE SOUR, as well as having made multiple appearances at DONINGTON’s DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL.

Now, they continue the momentum with their debut release, “Declaration Of Independence”, which hits the streets July 11th. A collection of tracks showcasing the infectious hooks and ear-catching riffs of the band’s un-blinkered approach to music, this is the sound of four very British individuals, showing the world something new and fulfilling, un-attracted to and uninfluenced by the American music machine.

The release is backed up by a run of dates, including a prestigious slot at this summer’s SONISPHERE festival at Knebworth House. Catch NO AMERICANA at the following shows:

    27th May – Actress & Bishop, Birmingham
30th May – Walsall Woodstock Festival, Walsall
4th June – The Crew, Nuneaton
9th June – Emma Scott presents show @ Hare & Hounds, Birmingham
    10th June – Base Studios – Stourbridge
    25th June – HMV Institute – Birmingham
4th July – Night & Day Café, Manchester
    8th July – The Watershed – London
9th July – Sonisphere Festival, Knebworth

DIR EN GREY REVEAL DETAILS OF NEW STUDIO ALBUM

DIR EN GREY will release their 8th studio album “DUM SPIRO SPERO” 2 years and 9 months after “UROBOROS”, which garnered overwhelming support as their strongest and the maddest record, resonating across the globe.

The band’s deep, extensive and unique perspective is once again set to break boundaries, with their uncategorisable mix of music which will undoubtedly secure tremendous support from the hard core fans, as well as gaining recognition from heavy rock fans, guitar enthusiasts and Western-music-obsessed music fans.

Guitarist KAORU describes the album as “more savage, and from a deeper world which is completely different from any of our past works.”

There are 14 tracks including “Hageshisa To, Kono Mune No Naka De Karamitsuita Shakunetsu No Yami” (featured on ‘SAW 3D’ soundtrack), “LOTUS”, “DIFFERENT SENSE” as single-cut tracks in this album.

With the combination of world-noted engineers and the individuality of a Japanese born and bred band, this album will no doubt be the determining punch for DIR EN GREY.

    * HELL & DRIPBACK JOIN LINE UP *

    * FANCY DRESS THEME REVEALED *

    * BLOODSTOCK PAYS TRIBUTE TO VINCENT PRICE WITH HOMAGE TO HAMMER HORROR IN CELEBRATION OF THE ACTOR’s 100th BIRTHDAY *

BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR has added another two bands to it’s 2011 line up. BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR has added another two bands to it’s 2011 line up. After a 24 year silence, NWOBHM pioneers HELL return to the world of metal with an appearance on the RONNIE JAMES DIO stage. Cited as a huge indirect influence, and as one of the true founding fathers of occult metal, the band formed in 1982 from the carcasses of UK metal bands RACE AGAINST TIME and PARALEX. Seemingly plagued by disaster, HELL were shunned by the metal press at the time, who could not get their collective heads around a band so different and ahead of their time. Add to this a bankrupt label, and the tragic suicide of singer/guitarist Dave Halliday, the world was not yet ready for HELL.

Returning with re-recordings of 10 classics from the 80s, and armed with legendary metal producer, guitarist Andy Sneap replacing Halliday on guitar, and David Bower on vocals, HELL’s legacy becomes reborn at CATTON HALL this summer.

“We had a lot of people asking us why we weren’t playing Bloodstock” says guitarist Andy Sneap “well it seems your demands have been granted approval by the Bloodstock consulate and we are honoured to be asked to play at Catton Hall on Saturday 13th August”

Over on the SOPHIE stage, newcomers DRIPBACK will bring their noisy mayhem to the tented arena. Featuring members of BLOODSTOCK alumni TED MAUL and underground heroes LABRAT, DRIPBACK play a fierce blend of hardcore, death and thrash metal inspired by the metal and hardcore of the mid-90s. Sounding like an angry Entombed fighting a tooled up Biohazard, this London mob were recently seen supporting Soilent Green on their tour of the UK, and have their debut release out on Siege Of Amida records next month.

    Says guitarist G Drax:

“Grit your teeth and beg for mercy! Dripback are hyped to play this years Bloodstock festival – no fuckin excuses Dripback are ready to smash Bloodstock 2011!”

With the line-up nearly complete, and just a couple of months to go, it’s time to start planning your costume for BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR 2011’s fancy dress theme night. The Friday is always a fun night, and with what would have been Hammer Horror legend VINCENT PRICE’s 100th Birthday coming this Friday, we thought what better way to pay tribute to the gruesome guru than a Hammer Horror theme this year.

We’re asking fans to come as their favourite morbid monsters, with prizes on offer for the most impressive costumes that manage to send chills down the spines of spectators despite the summer sun. From DRACULA and his brides to FRANKENSTEIN’s Monster, WEREWOLVES and all manner of creepy creatures, there are piles of possibilities, including some perfectly practical ones like the MUMMY or INVISIBLE MAN, which solves the problem of the late night hunt for bog-roll on the campsite.

BLOODSTOCK has long been championed for it’s Metal Karaoke – frankly the most metal fun you can have anywhere – and this year we aim to make it extra special by hosting the MONSTER MOSH. Whether it be DRACULA doing DIO, FRANKENSTEIN fronting FINNTROLL or a WEREWOLF wailing along to WOLF, a special grand prize is on offer for the most horrifically impressive karaoke performance.

BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR 2011 takes place at Catton Hall August 12th – 14th.

Tickets for the 2011 event are on sale now at www.bloodstock.uk.com

*JAPANESE VOYEURS, TURBOGEIST, NO AMERICANA, LOWER THAN ATLANTIS, YOU AND WHAT ARMY JOIN LINE UP *

    *DJS & COMPERES REVEALED*

After revealing what was supposed to be the last batch of bands for SONISPHERE 2011, organisers have managed to squeeze in another five slots to bring even more music to KNEBWORTH this summer, as well as six DJ sets to deliver raging after-hours parties.

In BOHEMIA, two more slots have been made available on the Friday for grunge revivalists JAPANESE VOYEURS and post hardcore punkers LOWER THAN ATLANTIS, while JAGERMEISTER makes room for Britrock flavoured power-popsters NO AMERICANA and latter day alt-rock grunge kids TURBOGEIST on the Saturday and Sunday respectively. Over on the RED BULL BEDROOM JAM stage, rap-rock ravers YOU AND WHAT ARMY squeeze in on the Saturday.

Although SONSIPHERE is now crammed full of fantastic acts, organisers may still find room for a couple more surprises – watch this space!

After doing such an incredible job last year, BBC RADIO ONE ROCK SHOW DJ Daniel P Carter and XFM DRIVETIME and ROCK SHOW presenter Ian Camfield return to host and compere the APOLLO and SATURN ARENA stages, and introduce all the awesome bands across the weekend.

Of course, SONISPHERE is not JUST about fantastic live music. Once the bands have stopped performing, the REAL party starts, and this year SONISPHERE has some top DJS lined up to get things going with a BANG!

Friday night sees A1 BASSLINE getting the bodies moving in BOHEMIA. Coming from the outskirts of Croydon, A1 BASSLINE has traveled the world DJ'ing his unique style of music as well as putting out tunes on his own label, Tighten Up Records – touted as one of the labels of the year. Normally associated with house music, his roots are drum & bass, and for SONISPHERE he revisiting them to treat us to a tear out D&B set.

Joining him is FOLD, aka Rob Glasset. One half of Homepark, FOLD is known mainly for Jazzy housey numbers, but will be playing the music he has always cherished at BOHEMIA, mixing up hip hop from all different angles, taking in old school US, current underground and UK hip hop/grime.

On the Saturday, TEK-ONE return to whip the hardcore who are still up for it after BIFFY CLYRO close the APOLLO arena stage into a frenzy. These guys played such a stunning set in the Strongbow Rooms last year that we not only decided to have late night DJs in BOHEMIA this year, we’re also letting TEK-ONE play twice! Following up on their live set over on the RED BULL BEDROOM JAM stage earlier in the evening, TEK-ONE will hit the DJ booth in BOHEMIA to deliver a late nice Dub Step mash up to take us into the earlier hours. In fact we thought that was such a good idea, that we’re following suit by letting INNERPARTYSYSTEM loose in BOHEMIA to bring their Pennsylvania mash up of electronic and industrial dance after their live set over on the RBBJ stage that same day.

Sunday night – well, Monday morning – is your last chance to dance, and so we have two hot young names taking over BOHEMIA to conclude proceedings with the audio fireworks that SONISPHERE’s finale deserves. STAN SB hails from Leeds and at just 18, he is already well sought after by many big labels – although a major deal is apparently already in place. Compared to Pendulum, Noisia and Chase n Status, Stan is a one man band, playing and singing live, and his set at SONISPHERE will show all why big things await this young man.

Joining him is ALFIE. Another early starter, at 16 he has already had his first release, which has had huge critical acclaim in the scene. Having been featured in Knowledge mag and doing an hour special on Rinse FM, he has been compared to the likes of James Blake, and although his own style is laid back Dubstep, he is planning a big blazin’ tear up for SONISPHERE’s conclusion.

SONISPHERE Festival was established in 2009 and received the award “Best New Festival' at the 2009 UK Festival Awards. That year the festival visited six different European countries, taking in Holland, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Finland and England, making it the world’s largest internationally touring festival. 2010 saw SONISPHERE make metal history by bringing metal’s BIG 4 – Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax – together for the first time, and taking yet more awards, with Festival promoters Kilimanjaro Live and K2 awarded European Promoter Of The Year at the 2010 European Festival Awards, the Finnish event receiving the Best Festival In Finland Summer 2010 in one of the country’s biggest newspapers, Ilta Sanomat, plus a shortlisting at the Digital Music Awards for the live cinecast of the Bulgarian SONISPHERE. It also sold its millionth ticket as a festival in 2010, an impressive milestone for such a young festival.

Now, just two years after its inception, SONISPHERE Festival has doubled to twelve European countries and has become the world’s foremost festival tour. This year headliners across Europe include Iron Maiden, Metallica, Linkin Park and Slipknot, with the three day UK event at KNEBWORTH boasting headline sets from The BIG 4, BIFFY CLYRO and SLIPKNOT, leaving no doubt that SONISPHERE is the world's greatest international festival. *ROCK SOUND SONISPHERE SECRET SESSIONS REVEALED*

*ROCK SOUND SONISPHERE SECRET SESSIONS REVEALED*
    (KINDA – IT’S ALL VERY SECRET…)

SONISPHERE is excited to announce that Rock Sound magazine are presenting the Sonisphere Secret Sessions in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. These will be tiny shows with big bands from this year's Sonisphere line-up, so far there are three events scheduled running throughout June and Jul.

The bands are so awesome that these shows will definitely sell out straight away, we can’t tell you who they are but what we can tell you is that the first event will be on June 15th at Kingston Peel, followed by June 27th at London Barfly, with a wrap party at Manchester Roadhouse on July 14th.

Keep an eye on www.rocksound.tv and follow @rocksound, @sonisphere ands @TeenageCancer on Twitter for band clues, on sale dates and further announcements.

Here's some stuff about Teenage Cancer Trust:

Founded in 1990, Teenage Cancer Trust is a charity dedicated to providing the best support to young cancer sufferers in the UK. Each day six young adults are told they have cancer, this totals up to around 2,100 people per year. One day life is all about music, video games, homework and clubbing, the next it's all about hospital wards and treatment. The Teenage Cancer Trust is not a government-funded charity so the 17 wards they've built throughout the country so far have been done through hard work and dedication. With an aim to build at least 16 more, hopefully every 13-24-year-old cancer patient will be able to receive treatment from one of the hi-tech TCT units. So what's so important about these wards? It's important that young people are given the opportunity to be treated on a ward with people their own age, the chance of survival is much higher if the patient is able to meet new people who they can relate to. The wards are kitted out with vending machines, games consoles, TVs, pool tables and loads more to give these young adults all the support and help they need.

Music is a huge factor in the way TCT raises money and awareness. Each year patron Roger Daltry, CBE, of The Who helps to organise the Royal Albert Hall shows you may have heard about. With massive acts like Muse, Bullet For My Valentine, Suede, JLS, Tinie Tempah and Them Crooked Vultures all performing in recent years, these events have managed to raise over £8.1 million so far. This is where Rock Sound's Sonisphere Secret Sessions comes in… offering you the chance to see some massive bands in tiny venues, you'd be mad to miss these shows – and all for an excellent cause!

DIR EN GREY ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE

DIR EN GREY ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE

Japanese Megastars DIR EN GREY have revealed news of their new single ahead of this summer’s new studio album. Set for release on 22nd June, “Different Sense” gives fans a taste of what to expect – bold and sensitive, complex but straightforward, the stunning new song leads listeners into an untrodden, chaotic terrain with a wild mixture of hardcore sounds coupled with the band’s unique melody.

Mixed by master metal engineer Tue Madsen (August Burns Red, The Haunted, Suicide Silence) and mastered by Alan Douches (Hatebreed, The Black Dahlia Murder, Job For a Cowboy), this is Dir en grey at their most ferocious.

“Different Sense” will be available via all good digital outlets on 22nd June 2011.

DIR EN GREY will play London’s Koko on 12th August:
