Josh Middleton & Alex Bailey from Sylosis will host the first Kramer Guitar Metal Masterclass at The British Music Experience in London’s O2 Arena on Saturday 8th October (2.00pm-3.30pm)

Josh Middleton and Alex Bailey from UK Metal band SYLOSIS will host the inaugural Kramer Guitar Metal Master Class at the British Music Experience in London’s O2 Arena on Saturday 8th October at 2.00pm -3.30pm – This is a unique opportunity to catch Josh and Alex perform some of the bands best known guitar riffs on their Kramer guitars and ask them questions in the exclusive surroundings of the British Music Experience, the only interactive museum dedicated to British music, past, present and future.

Metal giants Sylosis are taking some time out from their Autumn Tour to host this very special Kramer Guitar master class at The British Music Experience. Josh Middleton and Alex Bailey will be talking SYLOSIS fans through their musical motivations and what makes for a killer guitar sound. Visit the British Music Experience for a rare opportunity to get closer to the music at this unique event. Tickets for this event are just £5 + booking fee and can be purchased here –

Every generation of Metal bands has its pioneers – groups that re-define the genre musically and take it to a new level. SYLOSIS is one of them! It’s not for nothing that the quartet from Reading, England has been considered as one of the UK’s greatest Metal export. Now the boys return with their second metallic gem Edge of the Earth. Since the release of their debut album Conclusion of an Age in late 2008, SYLOSIS have acquired a respectable global fan base and were able to prove their live skills playing with bands such as DRAGONFORCE, AS I LAY DYING, FEAR FACTORY or THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER as well as on big festival stages of Download, Sonisphere and Graspop. After a slight line-up alteration of lead guitarist Josh Middleton henceforth taking the front man role as well, SYLOSIS present their most intense, vigorous and ambitious material to date. Edge of the Earth is overflowing with devastating riffs, thrilling melodies, soulful solos, progressive twists and turns and an ubiquitous dark atmosphere.

Catch SYLOSIS with MALEFICE, ANTERIOR and CHAPTERS at the following shows:

28th Sept Bristol Thekla
29th Sept Cardiff CF10 Cardiff University
1st Oct Manchester Club Academy
3rd October Leeds Cockpit

Phoenix, Ariozna’s blessthefall have only a handful of tickets left for their upcoming UK dates, with the London show now totally sold out.

Those who want to see the band – who are supported by label mates Motionless In White and Pierce The Veil – should move quickly, especially in Manchester where just a handful of tickets are still available.

With the envious combination of finely-honed musicianship and an electrifying live show, blessthefall has been rapidly gaining fans across the globe. If their previous hit album “Witness” was the rebirth of the band, “Awakening” is the world's eye-opener to this powerful Phoenix, AZ quintet, through 12 tracks of explosive melodic hardcore.

Their third full-length, “Awakening” is set for release on October 3rd. Says frontman Beau Bokan:

“Awakening is truly the beast we've become. We've been together a
little over 2 years now and we have grown together as friends and
musicians. This album shows us at our full potential. Witness was like
“here we are… we may have changed line up, but we can still write
awesome tunes”, but we've gone above and beyond with this new album.
We're so proud of it, and we know everyone is going to love it.”

The band have posted a medley to serve as a teaser, which you can view here:

RECKLESS LOVE, the flamboyant Finnish rockers who burst spectacularly onto the UK scene in 2010, have just released their new single ‘Animal Attraction’; this hugely hooky slice of melodic hard rock pie is cut from the band’s latest studio album of the same name.
‘Animal Attraction’, the album, features 11 brand new compositions, including first single / video ‘Hot’ (already available); the UK version of the album also carries the bonus track ‘Young ‘N’ Crazy’.

Other featured songs include ‘ Born To Break Your Heart’ (already being discussed as a future single), ‘Dirty Dreams’, ‘Dance’ & ‘Coconuts’.
IN SUPPORT of the new single and Album No. 2, Reckless Love have confirmed seven dates in the UK & Ireland (six of them headliners), spanning November 26th – December 3rd.

These are as follows:-
26th – Islington, O2 Academy, London
27th – Rock City, Nottingham
28th – Academy 3, Manchester
30th – Cathouse, Glasgow
1st – Limelight, Belfast
2nd – Whelans, Dublin
3rd – Hard Rock Hell Festival, Prestatyn, Wales

Given the quartet’s recent successes both at home and abroad, including two appearances at last year’s Download Festival, a full headline tour of the UK, an appearance at Firefest in Nottingham, plus stellar reviews for their self-titled debut album (recently re-issued via Spinefarm in upgraded form), there is now much anticipation for the ‘Animal Attraction’ follow-up.

DEAD BY APRIL – the melodic hard rockers from Gothenburg, Sweden – have re-scheduled the dates of their forthcoming headline UK tour, going under the ‘Slaughtour’ banner.
This six-date run of shows has been booked to support the release of the band’s latest /second studio album, ‘Incomparable’, out on November 7th 2011 via Spinefarm Records.
A new single, ‘Lost’, has just been released; this is actually the second single from the new album, following on from ‘Within My Heart’, released earlier this year.

Support on ‘Slaughtour…’ comes from fellow Swedes, Marionette; Spinefarm label- mates Machinae Supremacy are no longer a part of the package, but a new act will be confirmed shortly.

Tickets purchased for the original November dates will be valid for the new shows, which are as follows: –

Dec 08 – Academy 3, Manchester
Dec 09 – ABC 2, Glasgow
Dec 10 – The Other Rooms, Newcastle
Dec 11 – HMV Institute, Birmingham
Dec 12 – The Garage, London
Dec 13 – Joiners, Southampton

The Swedish AOR gurus confirm the release of ‘Relaunch’, a brand new mini-album of classic melodic rock covers, for November 14th 2011 via Spinefarm Records…

HOUSTON, the Swedish outfit whose debut self-titled release was voted ‘AOR Album Of The Year’ (2010) by Classic Rock / AOR magazine, will have a brand new mini-album released on November 14th through Spinefarm Records.
Titled ‘Relaunch’ and produced – as with the ‘Houston’ debut – by AOR connoisseur Ricky Delin, the full track-listing is as follows, with one original composition plus two bonus acoustic tracks taking the number of songs up to nine:-
1) Runaway (originally recorded by US rockers Dakota)
2) Carrie (originally recorded by Michael Bolton)
3) Brief Encounter (originally recorded by UK melodic maestros Airrace and featuring Airrace’s Laurie Mansworth on guest guitar)
4) Don’t You Know What Love Is (originally recorded by US outfit Touch, the first band ever to play the Monsters Of Rock festival, and featuring Touch keyboard player Mark Mangold on guest vox)
5) Don’t Ever Wanna Lose You (originally recorded by US four-piece New England, whose self-titled debut album was produced by Kiss’ Paul Stanley)
6) Didn’t We Almost Win It All (originally recorded by the late Laura Branigan)
7) Without Your Love (original song written by Ricky Delin; a duet with Amaranthe front-woman Elize Ryd)
8) Truth Slips (acoustic recording)
9) 1000 Songs (acoustic recording)
Says Houston drummer & core member, Freddie Allen:
“This year has been so great for Houston, with the first album getting so much recognition, so we just wanted to show everyone where we come from musically.
“‘Relaunch' is a way of paying tribute to our heroes, whilst at the same time updating today's audience on the classic AOR songs we have loved for so long. The Michael Bolton composition 'Carrie' was a track we felt has been somewhat overlooked through the years, and the same with the Laura Branigan ballad, 'Didn't We Almost Win It All'.
“Meanwhile, 'Runaway', the opening track, by Dakota, is a genuinely classic song, and that’s also true of Airrace’s 'Brief Encounter'.
“To top it all off, our producer Ricky Delin wrote a new song called 'Without Your Love', and the mini-album also includes acoustic versions of two of the debut album's songs, which we recorded in London back in March.
“We sincerely hope you will enjoy this record as much as we do!”

PRIOR TO the release of ‘Relaunch’, Houston will be making their first ever appearance at the annual UK Firefest event on October 21st, appearing on a bill that also includes Jimi Jamison, Terry Brock & Serpentine.

New studio album, ‘Fallen Angels’, confirmed for release on November 28th 2011 via Spinefarm Records, preceded by single ‘Hammerhead’ / ‘Hail Satanas’ on October 31st…

VENOM, the hugely influential UK outfit now celebrating a full 30 years since the release of their ‘Welcome To Hell’ debut, will have a brand new studio album released on November 28th via Spinefarm Records/Universal.
Titled ‘Fallen Angels’ and featuring 13 fresh recordings produced by main-man / bassist Cronos, this is the follow-up to 2008’s ‘Hell’ release, and sees the trio (completed by guitarist Rage & drummer Dante) adopting a style highly redolent of classic early Venom with modern studio technology employed only to increase the general level of nastiness.
The first limited edition pressing of ‘Fallen Angels’ will come with two bonus tracks, ‘Annunaki Legacy’ & ‘Blackened Blues’.
Prior to the album’s release, on October 31st, a double-A side single, ‘Hammerhead’ / ‘Hail Satanas’, will be made available on 12” vinyl & digital download, also through Spinefarm/Universal.
Says Cronos: “When we make an album, it usually takes a few tracks to get into the vibe, although this album’s vibe was very much present during the ideas stage… everything came together so naturally.
“We all started throwing ideas together on the South American tour, and then again during the live shows of 2010, and so we knew from the start that we had some amazing new songs to make a great album.
“With any new album, you look for a few songs to put into the live set, although that is going to be very difficult with this record, as we can nail the entire album live if we want!
“‘Fallen Angels’ is the result of a band that has spent nearly two years touring and growing as a unit, and as the band grows tighter, so the songs get better and heavier, and we instinctively know what each other is thinking, and the ideas flow easier.
“This album is only the very start for this line-up; there will be many more albums and live shows to come for Venom. It has taken a long time and a lot of changes to finally deliver a Venom that can attack Black Metal the way it should be – fast, furious, tight and terrifying. All Hell Breaks Loose… Hell Fucking Yeah !!!!!!!!!”

FORMED BACK in 1979 in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Venom have been a major influence on the Thrash Metal scene and on extreme music in general, with bands such as Metallica, Slayer & Megadeth acknowledging their importance.
With the title of their second album (‘Black Metal’, 1982) now being used to describe an entire musical genre, it’s clear that Venom’s ground-breaking blend of raw heavy metal & punk, complete with down-to-earth humour and lyrics inspired by satan and darker forces in general, singles them out as one of metal’s most influential acts.

They were harder, faster & noisier than their contemporaries back in the early ’80s, and ‘Fallen Angels’ shows that their signature no-compromise approach, based around Cronos’ infamous ‘bulldozer bass’, has in no way mellowed with time…

VON HERTZEN BROTHERS, the gold-sellin’, Grammy-winnin’ Prog Rock siblings, play a headline show at the Borderline in Central London on October 1st.

This one-off date comes in the wake of a ‘Prog Stage’ appearance at the High Voltage Festival in London back in the summer, and support on the night will come from Jurojin (featuring star violinist Anna Phoebe).
This show was originally set to take place at the Relentless Garage, but tickets for that venue remain valid for the Borderline.

FINLAND’S No. 1 rock act now celebrating 10 years together, VHB (based around vocalist/guitarist Mikko, guitarist/vocalist Kie & bassist/vocalist Jonne) return to the UK in support of their latest single / video, ‘Always Been Right’ – a track from their current / fourth studio album, ‘Stars Aligned’, a Finnish No. 1 released in the UK back in March via Spinefarm Records; the band’s previous two albums, ‘Approach’ & ‘Stars Aligned’, are also available here on Spinefarm.
With 2011 proving to be a big year for intelligent, complex music and quality playing, the Von Hertzen’s high-flyin’ combination of psychedelia & melodic, multi-layered rock should see them building quickly on their substantial home-grown success, sprinkling some serious international fairy dust of their own!
