Teenage Cancer Trust at Warped Tour

Teenage Cancer Trust at Warped Tour

In aid of Teenage Cancer Trust, Lostprophets are giving fans the unique opportunity to add to their setlist at November’s sold out Warped Tour UK. There are five songs to choose from via text vote (with proceeds going to Teenage Cancer Trust). The song with the highest number of votes will be performed by the band as they close Warped Tour UK on Saturday 10thNovember at North London’s iconic Alexandra Palace. The performance will be filmed exclusively by Punktastic and hosted on the site for fans to watch, so everyone can vote for their favourite.

The song options include ‘Lucky You’, which the band have only played once back in 2004 and ‘Broken Hearts…’ which was last performed live in 2008. Guitarist Mike Lewis says:

“All of the songs we picked – some of them we’ve only played once or twice live over the past 12 years – they’re tracks that a lot of people ask us to play. We figured it would be a big deal for us to choose these because it’s finally giving our fans the chance to dictate which one they truly want to hear most. Teenage Cancer Trust is such an amazing charity. Everyone in the band has had someone close to them deal with a cancer-related tragedy at some point, so it’s a cause that’s really important to us. We’re happy to support it in whatever way we can.”

The full song listings and text numbers are as follows:
LPS01 – Lucky You
LPS02 – Darkest Blue
LPS03 – Broken Hearts, Torn Up Letters and the Story of a Lonely Girl
LPS04 – A Million Miles
LPS05 – Weapon

To choose a song text the code you want to 70300. For example, for ‘Lucky You’ text LPS01 to 70300. Fans can vote as many times as they like. Entries will be counted up until midday on Monday 5th November and the winning song will be announced on Tuesday 6th. Text messages cost £1 plus your standard network rate. Teenage Cancer Trust will receive £1 from every text.

Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for the six young people aged between 13 and 24 diagnosed with cancer every day. As one of the few charity partners at Warped Tour UK this year, Teenage Cancer Trust will have a stand on-site with signings from some of the artists performing, a raffle to win an exclusive Warped UK prize and their T-shirt Amnesty – feel free to drop off your old and unwanted band T-shirts and potentially pick up a bargain in the process! Worldly Band Takes on  the Global Issues with Atlas

Global metal phenoms Parkway Drive have just unleashed a brand new track from their  soon to be released, spellbinding fourth album, Atlas out October 29th via Epitaph Records. The new track titled “Old Ghost / New Regrets” takes listeners on the epic journey of life and death of the world today, complimenting the overall darker album theme that centers around the state of the Earth as we know it. Fans are invited to pre-order the album by going to the Kings Road merch page.

“Old Ghost / New Regrets” can be streamed by going here:

The band hit the UK this November at the following venues:
14th Birmingham Ballroom
15th Manchester Academy
16th Leeds University
17th London Roundhouse
Tickets are priced £16 regionally and £17 in London.  A few tickets are still available
Parkway Drive have retained the classic elements of their magnificently heavy sound while broadening their horizons with new textures and dynamics. Lyrically, the band has turned a page in what is considered to be their most in – depth and advanced album to date.  Front-man Winston McCall draws from the bands experience as one of the most heavily traveled acts on the planet, reaching remote destinations far beyond the everyday touring locations such as Calcutta and Bali, Indonesia.
“The album was written at a time the band was travelling very extensively which had a major effect on the lyrics,” says McCall. “While there is no overarching theme, the songs resonate with the travels we as a band have made, and the effects they have had. This has lead to some of the harshest, and also some of the most personal lyrical content that we’ve ever put to music. In every way, this record has been shaped by the experiences that shaped us a people.”

Commenting on the delicate landscape of the Earth’s current environment in “Old Ghost / New Regrets,” McCall growls, “Precious heritage laid waste before the chainsaws snarling teeth, bleed the Earth, bleed her ‘til her heart no longer beats,”  between the ever so heavy metal riffs and bone-crushing drum fills that will not only have fans listening intently to the intricate and technical  elements of the song, but will also have hardcore devotees and metal maniacs running to the pit.

McCall continues, “This record means the world to us. Never as a band, and as people, have we put more effort and thought into creating music. There is more of us in this record than anything before. The experiences that it took to create over the years were once in a lifetime. Ten years down the track, this is the Parkway you know, but we’ve decided to step it up.”

The new record is positioned to be the most highly anticipated heavy album of the year and follows 2010’s phenomenally successful Deep Blue, which debuted #39 in the US on the Billboard 200, #2 in Australia, as well as reaching solid Gold and winning the ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock and Metal Album and has since built steadfast momentum as a result of a groundswell of fan support in the US.  Building on a record that was regarded as “not just a landmark album for themselves, [but] a milestone album for modern metal, (Metal Hammer),” Atlas cements Parkway Drive ‘s fourth album  as their “hands down best  yet and it’s also their most ambitious (Outburn).”

Italian folk metal band KRAMPUS has announced the departure their drummer Carlo Adrian. He was recently struck by lightning and will not be able to play the drums any time soon. The band are in the process of finding a replacement for him and will be announcing a new drummer very soon!
The band commented: “With one laughing and one crying eye we have to announce that our drummer Carlo has left Krampus effective immediately. He has, in fact, been struck by lightning and considers himself lucky to not have gotten hurt worse. He is ok, but will not be able to play the drums for some time to come. Carlo is a great friend of us and we would like to thank him for the great effort and dedication he has had for the band. We wish him good and full recovery and all the best for his future endeavours.
The good news is that we are already working on a replacement, and will have exciting news to announce sooner rather than later. One hint for now: He’s a very talented musician, and you have most likely already heard of him with his current band!”

KRAMPUS latest  album “Survival Of The Fittest” came out via Noisert earlier this year.
The album can be ordered from the NoiseArt website:

KRAMPUS are joining WintersunKorpiklaaniVarg and others on the Heidenfest tour later this month.
